[Approved for ETHICS CREDITS] You will learn about the practical aspects and strategies of establishing and maintaining a disability management program, including collaborating with advocacy groups, adhering to the Americans with Disability Act, and determining essential job functions through job analyses.
[Approved for ETHICS CREDITS] You will learn about the character strengths and virtues that comprise Positive Psychology and how employers and employees can view their work through the new psychology’s lens. You will learn how disability management programs can incorporate Positive Psychology principles to aid impaired individuals in continuing their meaningful work.

In addition, you will learn about strategies for occupational recovery and who is responsible for an employee’s return to work.

You will also learn about concepts that explain why workplaces are sometimes unproductive and how to counteract those phenomena.
[Approved for ETHICS CREDITS] You will learn about chronic pain in the workplace and how using opioids to treat chronic pain affects the workplace, as well as ideas for employers to control specific issues of back pain. You will also learn about the role of independent medical examinations and their importance.
